Name: Emily Rose (images -- though I warn you that you'll inevitably run across really creepy stuff pertaining to a "based-on-a-true-story" horror film about someone with the same name, unfortunately | Web site | Twitter)
Hometown: The Seattle suburb of Renton, Wash., according to her Wikipedia entry.
Best Known For: Emily is the star of the science fiction drama Haven. She plays an FBI agent who comes across a mysterious Maine town full of people with strange abilities that are more curse than blessing; it's very loosely based on the novel The Colorado Kidby Stephen King and comes from several of the people behind USA Network's Stephen King-inspired series The Dead Zone.

She's mainly worked in television and short films, since completing her MFA in acting from UCLA, but is also a voice actress. Emily has provided the voice of the character Elena Fisher in three (soon to be four)Uncharted video games, starting with Drake's Fortunein 2007.
Humble Beginnings: She appeared in about half the episodes of the final season of ER as a first-year resident, alongside fellow crushShiri Appleby. Other credits did several episodes of Brothers & Sisters (playing a vixen-ish friend of fellow crush Emily VanCamp), a few episodes of the post-apocalyptic drama Jericho, and co-starred in HBO's ill-fated John from Cincinnati, aka The Show That Killed Deadwood, More or Less.

Single-episode guest roles include the comedyTwo and a Half Men and the police dramasCold Case and Without a Trace. (She was also in an episode of the very short-lived crime drama Smith, which co-starred Amy Smart -- to whom she Emily bears at least a passing resemblance.)
Why Ye Olde Podcaster Likes Her:Emily's a solid actress as skilled at playing tough, seductive, vulnerable, or even wryly funny. Plus, she's purty (a technical Southern term). It's good to see her get a starring role and a chance to prove herself beyond supporting roles.
